Access Control?
A. Each Access Control Terminal can control 1 door IN/OUT or 2 doors IN. 2. Q. What accessories can I add to my Access Control system to enhance my possibilities? A. The following possibilities are available as accessories to enhance Tempus’s Access Control System: • Door status alarms • Various locking devices • Biometric Upgrade • Interface with other equipment i.e. Gates, Shutters etc 3. Q. What control will I have over the Access Control System? A. The system is fully programmable giving complete management as to who goes where and at what times 4. Q. Can I have different Access Levels and Access Times for Staff? A. Time zones can be set up for individual or groups of staff members according to the requirements of the administrators of the software. Time and Attendance (Time Management) & Access Control1. Q.

A. Depending on individual needs each system can be configured in excess of 1000 users. 2. Q. How easy is it to retrieve data from the Terminal? A. Data for both Access Control and Time and Attendance can be retrieved through TCP/IP, RS232 or RS485 connection. 3. Q. Can the Terminal and software be networked? A. Yes, the Terminal and the software packages can be networked for either or both Access Control or Time and Attendance. 4. Q. How is networking possible? A. Networking is possible via TCP/IP on the provision that the TCP/IP address is a Fixed Address and can be Pinged in DOS 5. Q. Can I use the same Terminal for both Access Control and Time and Attendance? A. The same Terminal can provide you with Time and Attendance plus Access Control. 6. Q. How many Terminals can the software control? A. Both software packages are open ended. The Access Control software can control up to 200 doors and the Time and
attendance
software is able to handle up to 999 Terminals.
7. Q. Do I need to upgrade the software if adding more employees or Terminals? A. It is not necessary to upgrade the software when adding to either Access Control or Time and Attendance. 8. Q. What happens if a Terminal fails or breaks-down? A. Tempus offer a 10-year warranty on the Terminal provided the customer subscribes to one of our support programmes. 9 Q. What happens to my Access Control and Time and Attendance system should the software fails? A. The software failing should not have any effect on the daily operation of the equipment. The hardware will continue to function independently until the problem in the software is corrected. 10. Q. What happens if I lose data? (Time and Attendance) A. Customers who subscribe to one of our support programmes enjoy complete telephone assistance. In the event the problem is not solved over the telephone we ask the customer to email to us their Data File, we then repair the file and return it to you working. 11 Q. Which type of reader is compatible with the Terminal? A. Whether using Access Control or Time and Attendance most brands of reader are compatible with the Terminal. Furthermore, the following formats of reader can be used: • Proximity • Barcode • ISO Track II Magnetic Swipe • Biometric 12 Q. What data can I expect to retrieve from the software? A. For both Access Control and Time and Attendance it is possible to retrieve monthly, weekly, daily and hourly reports for all staff members or for individual staff members. 13 Q. Can reports be customized? A. The Access Control and Time and Attendance software are complete with an optional reports generator enabling all software fields to be displayed and or printed according to the data required by the software administrator. 14 Q. How can the software cater for company structure? A. The Access Control and Time and Attendance software can be set up for multiple Companies, Departments, Sub-departments or Labelled by the administrator as required. 15 Q. A. This is normally due to one or more of the following; • Employee not assigned to the correct agreement • Grace and Rounding has or has not been setup • Overtime Limits not set correctly 2. Q. What are the red entries on the Swipe Traffic screen within the Time and Attendance software? A. In order to avoid any mismanagement all manual entries or alteration appear in RED this safeguards the software against false entries. On the reports these entries are denoted with an asterisk. 3. Q. Why have I lost communications with the Terminal? (Access Control & Time and Attendance) A. Check that the Terminal is powered, data cable or network connection. |
